Q:  How do I get my software listed on Reg.Net?

A:  The easiest way to list your shareware with our service is to apply online. The URL to connect to is: New Author Sign Up. Fill out the bottom part of the form and hit SUBMIT INFORMATION for each program you wish to list.

Q:  How much does it cost to have my program on your service?

A:  It does not cost anything to be listed in our database. Our fees are structured according to the total retail cost of your product. For products over $20, the price is $3 + 10% per sale and 20% (minimum of $2.00) for products $20 or less.

Q:  How do I know if the service is getting registrations for my program?

A:  If Reg.Net is working for you and your program is getting registrations through our World Wide Web service, toll-free number, international number or fax, you will be receiving a check each fiscal quarter (with at least a 60 day elapse of time). The best way to check on your registrations, is to visit our Author Report page at: https://secure.reg.net/authors/AuthorReport.asp. Additionally, if registration of your program requires you to send out a registered version, registration code, or documentation, etc., then you will be notified within one business day of RegNet taking the registration.

Q:  Why do I sometimes get a check every quarter?

A:  If your total registration fees do not total $100 or more, you will be sent a check each quarter. By issuing shareware authors a check every quarter (with a 60 day elapse) we are insuring that we do not get bogus credit cards and we are protecting ourselves and you against dissatisfaction. With the exception of authors making more than $100 per month, these quarterly checks help us keep down our costs, so that we can continue to provide inexpensive, high quality service to your customers.

Q:  Is it possible for authors not in the U.S. to use Reg.Net?

A:  Absolutely. RegNet is global in scope. We have many authors in our database who are not in the U.S. Authors from the U.K., the Netherlands, and Australia consider Reg.Net a great way to tap into the U.S. market by immediately having a toll-free number, secure online transactions, and a way to accept registrations from users around the world.

Q:  I am an author not located in the U.S. Can you do a wire transfer or send a cheque in my currency?

A:  We have a few different payment options available. By default, we will issue a check in U.S.$ or deposit funds directly into your account if you provide your account information. If you prefer, we can issue a foreign draft or a wire transfer to your bank in your currency for no additional fees. (The wire transfer option is not available to all countries.) Simply provide bank name, address, account holder, account and routing numbers. Keep in mind there may be an additional fee imposed by your bank, including cashing a U.S. check.

Q:  What kinds of payment do you accept?

A:  Reg.Net can accept all kinds of payment. We take the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Novus (Discover), and Diner's Club. For high ticket items (over $100) we can issue an invoice against a purchase order for payment by check or credit card. We also accept money orders or checks (payable to Reg.Net).

Q:  Do you send out a detailed list of all orders with the registered user's name and address?

A:  Each time we receive an order we will send you the user's contact information. In addition, we now have an online author report that allows you to view your sales at any time.

Q:  What is your mailing address?

A:  Our mailing address for Developer Relations is:

Reg.Net, Inc.9625 West 76th Street
Eden Prairie, MN 55344
U.S.A.

Q:  Can you fulfill the orders for me?

A:  Certainly. Many of our authors have been looking for someone to fulfill their registrations. RegNet can now generate keys for your program, using your own key system or RegNet's FREE Key System. This extra service is for existing RegNet authors and is provided at no additional cost. By having RegNet handle the entire order fulfillment, you free yourself from the worries and the difficult task of mailing the registered versions of the software to your users. RegNet provides free of charge to our shareware authors a unique key system that protects your shareware until users register. RegNet can generate the key upon receipt of the order. Your users are pleased by the rapid response and you have been released from checking your e-mail each day for new orders to fulfill. By having RegNet fulfill the order, it allows you to distribute one software package that can be registered with a key. For authors who have a URL where the full version can be downloaded, ESD is the new ultimate in getting the software to the user without delay. With ESD, the user will recieve a user name and password that is good for three days where they can download the full version of your software. All you need to do is provide us with the full version and we will handle the rest. More and more authors are now choosing the ESD method.

Q:  Does Reg.Net list software with mature or adult content?

A:  Reg.Net has made an executive decision not to carry mature / adult related products (including those of a violent or sexual nature). As such, Reg.Net will not resell programs that depict or encourage violence or any adult software.

Q:  Can Reg.Net resell items other than software?

A:  Reg.Net specializes in software sales but we can handle the resale of services, literature, and other goods. Contact us for more details.

Q:  What's the policy on advertising your 800 number in a magazine?

A:  Our toll-free number should only be published as ORDERS ONLY.  Users tend to call a toll-free number with a question or two and it can tie up the lines quickly depending on the circulation of the magazine.  It is best to provide an alternate number as well for tech. support, even if they reach a machine.  Let us know before the ad runs so we can prepare and be sure the price we quote will match that listed in the magazine.

Q:  I don't want my address information shown online. Can you just list my e-mail address?

A:  Yes. Though we need all of your contact information for our files, we can show your users only the information you wish them to see. Let them call us in the middle of the night to order instead of calling you.

Q:  Other than adult software, is there any other type of software Reg.Net will not list?

A:  Yes, Reg.Net will not list any occult-related software such as astrology, fortunetelling, tarot cards, etc. Reg.Net also reserves the right to determine if the software contains inappropriate content.

Q:  What is Delayed Notification?

A:  Each time a sale comes in for your software, a sale notification will be sent to you immediately unless the Delayed Notification option is set to 'yes'. Once set to 'yes' the sale notification will not be sent until our manual fraud screening process is complete. This screening process takes place regularly throughout the day. It is not a guarantee that the order will be valid, but gives you an additional level of protection. This is especially helpful for authors who have setup automated fulfillment systems to avoid sending out a code for an order that may be fraudulent.
